Our Transformations series highlights projects that are helping to reshape the Atlanta region.

Constellations Workspace is an innovative coworking space housed in a century old, renovated brick building in downtown Atlanta’s historic Sweet Auburn neighborhood.

But Constellations isn’t just another stylish redevelopment project. It also has a unique mission to connect with the surrounding community, known for being the birthplace of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and the Civil Rights movement.

Located on the top floor of a two-story building that sits above the APEX black heritage museum, Constellations houses 18 civic and socially-minded organizations under one roof.

The space also encourages its occupants to explore the area’s plentiful commute options. The development doesn’t provide onsite parking, nor does it include parking in its lease agreements.

The 9,500 square foot project was developed by Gene Kansas Commercial Real Estate, with help from a grant from Invest Atlanta.

Let’s take a tour of this project, which recently received a Development of Excellence Award from the Atlanta Regional Commission.

A Loving Restoration
