Douglasville, Ga. – Douglas County District 1 Commissioner Henry Mitchell III received a surprise honor by the Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Friday, March 08, 2019 for his outstanding service to the state of Georgia.
News of the recognition was announced after members of the Douglas County Chamber, officials from the City of Douglasville and Douglas County government traveled to meet with members of the state Douglas County delegation to discuss legislative priorities for the community of Douglasville and Douglas County.
During a brief gathering on the steps outside of 514 Coverdell Legislative Building, District 66 State Rep. Kimberly Alexander, D-Hiram presented several proclamations including one for District 1 Commissioner Henry Mitchell III. The proclamation reads in part, I, Brad Raffensperger, Secretary of State of the State of Georgia, do hereby proclaim Henry Mitchell III, as an outstanding Georgia Citizen and may this outstanding citizen be afforded every courtesy as a Goodwill Ambassador.
District 1 County Commissioner Henry Mitchell, III was sworn in to his third term on the Douglas County Board of Commission in December 2018.
