Proposed Millage Rate Public Hearings

The Rockdale County Board of Commissioners has tentatively adopted a 2018 millage rate which will require an increase in property taxes by 9.85 percent. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 20.19 mills, an increase of 1.811 mills. Without this tentative tax increase, the millage rate will be no more than 18.38 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $100,000 is approximately $72.40 and the proposed tax increase for non‐homestead property with a fair market value of $300,000 is approximately $217.20.

Pursuant to O.C.G.A. §48-5-32, public hearings relative to the millage rate will be held. The hearing details are as follows:

  • Public Hearing: Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Assembly Hall located at 901 Main Street, Conyers, Georgia 30012. (Regular BOC Meeting to Follow)
  • Public Hearing: Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall located at 901 Main Street, Conyers, Georgia 30012.
  • Public Hearing: Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. in the Assembly Hall located at 901 Main Street, Conyers, Georgia 30012.

Further, the Board of Commissioners will hold a Called Meeting to set the millage rate Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Assembly Hall located at 901 Main Street, Conyers, Georgia 30012, the regular Work Session will follow.
